What You'll Do
- Optimize manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot production problems
- Plan and design manufacturing plant floor layouts
- Ensure equipment and materials are located and coordinated efficiently
- Constantly interact with the manufacturing team
- Participate in the daily GEMBA
- Partner with operations to make logistical improvements
- Design solutions to solve hands-on issues like tooling and equipment repairs
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Supervise your team of Transportation and Logistics Team Leads and Associates
- Build and implement innovative materials management processes
- Establish clear expectations and ensure accountability through servant leadership
- Maintain productivity, reliability, and accuracy standards for the department
- Improve policies and procedures that will become standardized across your team
- Build and nurture relationships cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and quality teams
- Stay attuned to customer requirements and new changes in support of assembly
- Implement corrective actions when failures occur within the flow of materials
- Perform supervisory administrative activities such as vacation and timecard approvals, overtime, hiring, and training
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two or more (2+) years of Transportation and Logistics experience within a complex materials environment
- Project management skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and network applications
- Up to 10% local travel
Desired Skills
- Experience recruiting and training
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Leadership and people management experience
- Bachelor's Degree
