Transportation Analyst

About the role

RMC is seeking a Transportation Analyst for a full-time hybrid position in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will support mission analyst functions, conduct risk assessments and requirements validations, and assist in the coordination and research of protection policies, directives, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Transportation Analyst will be responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing system data, identifying vulnerabilities, and preparing clear, actionable reports and recommendations. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and enhancing mission assurance program transportation assessment criteria based on mission requirements and collecting capability data prior to, during, and after the mission assurance assessment process
• Reviewing applicable mission data, plans, instructions, and commander’s guidance to help determine the criticality of specific assets, identify single points of failure and degradation to tenant, installation, Navy, and DoW missions
• Identifying and reporting transportation infrastructure/assets and capability vulnerabilities, program policy gaps, and providing recommended risk mitigation measures
• Performing risk analysis and providing recommendations to mitigate mission impact resulting from the loss of asset capabilities, infrastructure, maintenance, training, or supporting services
• Developing briefing slides, reports, managing assessment scheduling and coordination requirements, and participating in the report editing review processes
• Addressing tasking from internal teams, DoD stakeholders, and broader organizational initiatives in a responsive and professional manner
• Managing workload proactively, maintaining a 30-day outlook to meet deadlines and identify resource needs

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Airfield and Port Operations, AA&E Storage and Transportation Requirements and C-sUAS, or a four-year degree in a relevant field. Other requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Technology, Airfield/Airport Management, Business, Political Science, Security Management, or related field (experience may substitute for education)
• Experience using vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies
• Hybrid Position: This is a hybrid position where you will be working 4 days in office and 1 day remote
• Security Clearance: Obtaining a DoW Top Secret clearance
• Valid Passport: Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until the expiration date
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness and capability to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% of the time
• Work Environment Compliance: Commitment to maintaining a drug-free work environment, U.S. Citizenship, and possession of a valid state driver's license

Skills

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of:

• Airfield experience or understanding of: DoW, USN CONUS and OCONUS airfield and airspace operations, DoW, USN air training and range operations, FAA requirements, radar, navigational aids, and communications maintenance structure and responsibilities
• Port Experience Or Understanding Of DoD, USN, CONUS and OCONUS Operations, DoD, USN and Maritime Sealift Command requirements and missions
• Common Understanding Of Railway operations design, equipment uses, and operations, Roads and bridges design and use, Munitions storage, movement, and operations
