Responsibilities
- Confirm and make doctors’ appointments for residents.
- Assist in making arrangements and providing transportation to appointments, community events, and other outings as needed.
- Notify family members of arrangements regarding appointments.
- Perform clerical tasks, including processing administrative transfers and discharges.
- Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
- Check supply areas daily and stock with required items.
- Fill requisitions from the nursing department for routine supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure the facility has adequate emergency supplies.
- Maintain supply and storage rooms in an organized, clean, and safe condition in compliance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations.
- Ensure inventory is updated as required when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment; rotate supplies to avoid loss of expired items.
- Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared, signed, and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures.
- Coordinate claims on damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and returns to the vendor as required.
- Follow the process to ensure supplies are tracked and charged appropriately.
- Check invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc., against incoming merchandise.
- Ensure defective equipment is identified for maintenance and repair as required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Clean and check equipment as directed or necessary.
- Provide clerical support to the nursing department.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Active CPR Certification.
- Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no more than three (3) total entries on Motor Vehicle Record, including accidents regardless of fault, moving violations, or failures to appear). Disqualifying offenses include DUI/DWI, refusal to test, reckless driving, hit-and-run, or any felony driving conviction.
- Strong independence and decision-making skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative in unexpected situations while ensuring resident safety and comfort.
- Clear and professional communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
