Responsibilities & Duties
- Diagnose & Repair: Properly identify transmission issues and perform repairs ranging from fluid services and valve body replacements to complete internal rebuilds.
- Testing: Conduct thorough road tests and utilize GM diagnostic software to verify performance pre- and post-repair.
- Documentation: Accurately document the condition, cause, and remedy of vehicle issues for warranty and customer compliance.
- Training: Stay up to date with GM repair manuals, technical service bulletins (TSBs), and software reprogramming.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with Service Advisors and Parts Professionals to ensure a seamless workflow and high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional automotive transmission experience (GM dealership experience strongly preferred).
- Certification: ASE Certifications (specifically Automatic Transmissions / Transaxle) and/or GM Service Technical College (STC) certifications highly desired but not required.
- Equipment: Must have your own tools (specialty OEM tools provided).
- Compliance: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to pass pre-employment background/drug screenings.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift heavy equipment.
