Job Description
- Providing engineering support to Transmission Field Services personnel during the commissioning, verification, and closeout of planned and unplanned work on the transmission system.
- Reviewing upcoming outages, construction activities, maintenance work, and equipment replacements to identify and evaluate configuration changes that may impact facility ratings, protection systems, station assets, operational models, or systems of record.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, relay settings, station documentation, facility ratings information, and project records to verify that systems of record accurately reflect approved as-built field conditions.
- Performing facility verification activities required to maintain compliance with FAC-008 requirements for BES facilities and other applicable Configuration Management requirements for non-BES facilities.
- Supporting Configuration Management processes to ensure alignment between physical assets, facility ratings, relay settings, operational models, engineering documentation, and associated systems of record.
- Supporting the maintenance of accurate facility ratings, relay settings, asset data, operational models, and engineering documentation required for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the transmission system.
- Identifying and escalating potential compliance, configuration, or data accuracy concerns that may impact reliability, operational readiness, or regulatory obligations.
Technical Expertise
- Possesses entry-level knowledge and experience in applying engineering principles to solve well-defined technical problems and perform analyses under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Assists with portions of larger engineering assignments and develops knowledge of transmission facilities, protection systems, facility ratings, Configuration Management processes, applicable reliability standards, engineering documentation, and systems of record.
- Demonstrates familiarity with applicable industry standards, codes, regulations, and business processes relevant to the assigned area.

Qualifications
- Has typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology can satisfy this degree requirement, if they obtain a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Acceptable alternative is: a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
