Engineer Sr - Engineer Prin (T-Line)
About the Role
In this role, you'll perform advanced engineering work activities and projects, applying engineering knowledge to accomplish assigned objectives safely, effectively, efficiently, and economically under the guidance of an assigned manager.
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering theory to solve well-defined problems or provide analysis with guidance from higher-level engineers.
- Assist higher-level engineers with well-defined portions of more complex problems and analyses.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment.
- Gain familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems, and business processes.
- Coordinate work activities of others to resolve routine engineering tasks.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures, with activities monitored by higher-level employees.
- Provide input to routine project planning documents, including scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) for budget and planning activities.
- Monitor project status and recommend actions as needed.
- Prepare cost estimates using established standards.
- Develop an understanding of workflow for routine engineering projects.
- Actively seek information and apply basic techniques to resolve routine technical problems.
- Use initiative to identify opportunities and present new ideas or approaches.
- Assist in preparing reports and technical papers.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and present ideas clearly.
- Begin networking with peers to share information and encourage cooperation.
- Develop effective give-and-take relationships and demonstrate teamwork.
- Make routine decisions subject to review and contribute to team decision-making.
- Demonstrate an attitude of customer focus and apply economic analysis techniques in problem-solving.
- Pursue effective ways to protect and enhance the environment while providing reliable electricity at a competitive cost.
- Participate in professional and business organizations to understand departmental roles and responsibilities.
Transmission Line Engineering Duties
- Plan and scope transmission line (T-Line) projects.
- Communicate with stakeholders.
- Perform structure type selection.
- Evaluate geotechnical reports.
- Design multiple foundation types.
- Evaluate wire tension and clearance.
- Perform PLS-CADD design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Acceptable alternative: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program.
- Typically six to eight (6-8) or more years of related engineering experience.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is preferred (waiver possible with approval).

Pay
Compensation Grade: SP20-009
Compensation Range: $98,993.00 - $151,132.50
Schedule
Physical Demand Level: Sedentary Work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may include brief periods of walking or standing.
