Responsibilities
- Contribute to incorporating New York State clean energy requirements into Con Edisons Transmission Master Plan.
- Support short and long-term bulk electric system studies for renewable integration, including offshore wind, solar, and energy storage.
- Conduct thermal, voltage, short-circuit, and stability analyses to maintain system reliability.
- Afford assistance in designing and planning transmission system modifications to accommodate new technologies.
- Analyze reliability benefits of proposed projects and provide technical input.
- Participate in interconnection studies for company-owned projects.
- Collaborate with NYISO and other stakeholders to substantiate local and bulk transmission planning efforts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NERC guidelines.
Qualifications
- Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Power Engineering and Two years of relevant work experience, including one year of engineering work experience related to the planning, design, or operation of the bulk electric transmission system.
- Relevant Work Experience: Exposure to the design and /or operation of the electric power system, required.
- Capability of using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, required.
