Interconnections Associate Planning Engineer, STO Transmission Planning

Responsibilities

• Aid with interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission, and other new clean energy technology projects.
• Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses.
• Support analyses identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
• Support internal engineering activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers.
• Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on the bulk electric system; assist with developing recommended modifications for NYISO.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with two years of full-time work experience, including at least one year of engineering work involving the planning, design, or operation of the bulk electric transmission system.
• Prioritized: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering with two years of full-time work experience, including at least one year of engineering work involving the planning, design, or operation of the bulk electric transmission system.
