Responsibilities
- Perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects.
- Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses.
- Contribute to analyses identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
- Participate in internal engineering support activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers.
- Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on bulk electric system; Develop recommended modifications to NYISO.
Qualifications
- Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
- Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
- Relevant Work Experience: Knowledge of the design and /or operation of the electric power system, required.
- Competent in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, required.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated analytical skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Effective interpersonal skills, Develops and delivers effective presentations, Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
