About the role
The Transmission Service Technician I is responsible for the diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding of heavy-duty transmissions.
Responsibilities
- Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Diagnoses and repairs various brands of transmissions.
- Performs basic mechanical work functions that include troubleshooting, repairing, preventative maintenance on transmissions.
- Assists other technicians with performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Effectively communicates with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Attends training classes as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a transmission mechanic.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of performing complex repairs correctly and safely in a shop and field environment.
