Transmission Line Project Manager (Northwest Region)
About the role
HDR Engineering is seeking a Transmission Line Project Manager to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. This role offers the opportunity to manage Transmission Line projects of all sizes and complexities, domestically and potentially abroad, within a well-established global Power Delivery practice.
Preferred locations for this position include: Anchorage, Boise, Billings, Missoula, Portland, Seattle, and Spokane.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead transmission line engineering projects throughout their entire life cycle, including scope and proposal development, project execution, quality control, and project closeout.
- Oversee projects involving routing/siting, public involvement, environmental permitting, real estate acquisition, construction management, or other related services.
- Direct, mentor, train, and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
- Provide oversight of project team workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance.
- Oversee non-engineering components of projects, such as public engagement, agency coordination, permitting, right of way acquisition, and construction management.
- Lead the QA/QC process per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) to deliver services and work products exceeding client quality expectations.
- Support client management and engage in business development activities with existing and target clients.
- Coordinate with leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop hiring plans for growing the team.
- Workshare with staff in multiple offices to execute projects.
- Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- FE or PE license preferred; PMP certification may be accepted in lieu of PE.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- 7 years of related experience in the field.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with various design teams.
- Commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

- Seattle/Bellevue/Everett, WA: $137,676 - $196,680
- Olympia, WA: $114,730 - $163,900
- Gig Harbor, WA: $126,203 - $180,290
- Vancouver, WA: $120,467 - $172,095
Compensation depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
