About the Role

HDR Engineering is seeking a Transmission Line Project Manager to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. Opportunities are available in these preferred locations: Anchorage, Boise, Billings, Missoula, Portland, Seattle, and Spokane.

As part of a well-established global Power Delivery practice, you will manage Transmission Line projects of all sizes and complexities, domestically and potentially abroad. You will collaborate with design teams to execute these projects, overseeing all aspects from proposal development to project closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead transmission line engineering projects throughout the entire life cycle, including scope development, proposal creation, execution, quality control, schedule, budget management, and closeout.
  • Oversee projects involving routing/siting, public involvement, environmental permitting, real estate acquisition, construction management, or other services.
  • Work independently or direct, mentor, train, and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Provide project team oversight, including workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance.
  • Oversee non-engineering components of projects, such as public engagement, agency coordination, permitting, right-of-way acquisition, and construction management.
  • Lead the QA/QC process per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) to deliver services exceeding client quality expectations.
  • Support client management and engage in business development activities with existing and target clients.
  • Coordinate with leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop hiring plans for team growth.
  • Facilitate work-sharing across multiple offices to execute projects.
  • Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Commitment to active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FE or PE license (PMP accepted in lieu of PE).

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position varies by location:

  • Montana: $109,000 - $156,000
  • Spokane, WA: $109,000 - $156,000
  • Seattle/Bellevue/Everett, WA: $137,676 - $196,680
  • Olympia, WA: $114,730 - $163,900
  • Gig Harbor, WA: $126,203 - $180,290
  • Vancouver, WA: $120,467 - $172,095

Benefits listed are for full-time regular positions; temporary and part-time roles are eligible for limited benefits.
