About the role

HDR Engineering is seeking a Transmission Line Project Manager to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. This role offers the opportunity to manage Transmission Line projects of all sizes and complexities, domestically and potentially abroad, while working collaboratively with design teams to execute projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead transmission line engineering projects throughout the entire life cycle, including scope/proposal development, project execution, quality control, schedule, budget management, and closeout.
  • Oversee projects involving routing/siting, public involvement, environmental permitting, real estate acquisition, construction management, or other services.
  • Direct, mentor, train, and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Provide oversight of project team workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance.
  • Oversee non-engineering components of projects, such as public engagement, agency coordination, permitting, right-of-way acquisition, and construction management.
  • Lead the QA/QC process per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) to deliver services exceeding client expectations.
  • Support client management and engage in business development activities with existing and target clients.
  • Coordinate with leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop hiring plans for growing the team.
  • Facilitate work-sharing across multiple offices to execute projects.
  • Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with at least 2 years in project management.
  • FE or PE license preferred; PMP may substitute for PE.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse design teams.
  • Commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Pay

  • Montana: $109,000 – $156,000
  • Spokane, WA: $109,000 – $156,000
  • Seattle/Bellevue/Everett, WA: $137,676 – $196,680
  • Olympia, WA: $114,730 – $163,900
  • Gig Harbor, WA: $126,203 – $180,290
  • Vancouver, WA: $120,467 – $172,095
