Transmission Line Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and analysis of overhead and underground transmission lines (69kV–500kV), including structure loading, conductor selection, and line routing.
  • Apply NESC, ASCE, and utility standards to ensure compliant, high-quality designs.
  • Aid in project delivery from concept through construction, including scheduling, estimating, and coordination.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project scope.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other disciplines to meet schedule and budget objectives.
  • Provide technical input for proposals and bids as required.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to support delivery goals.
  • Follow company standards, safety processes, and risk management practices.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission line or related utility infrastructure engineering.
  • Working knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, SAG10, or LPILE.
  • Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, or engineering consultants.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or BIM tools preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • The expected salary range for this position is $89,000 - $108,000.
