Transmission Line Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
  • Create project scope documents.
  • Perform finite element design modeling using PLS-CADD software.
  • Engineer design of structures and foundations.
  • Develop loading, framing, foundation and plan & profile drawing sets.
  • Create staking sheets, sag charts, and other construction exhibits.
  • Produce material and construction specifications.
  • Perform other design tasks as needed.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of best-in-class projects.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor design staff.
  • Oversight of designers, drafters and support staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years' design engineering experience, project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • A willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.
  • Preferred: PE license or commitment to progress towards PE licensure.
  • Fundamental knowledge of transmission engineering principles and applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
  • Experience with basic project management execution skills.

  • Passport and driver’s license are required.
  • Occasional travel/driving is required.
  • Subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
  • Subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
