Title: Transmission Line Engineer Location: Flexible (Remote/Hybrid depending on candidate location) Travel: Occasional travel for site visits and project support Office: Flexible Reports to: Engineering Manager Role And Responsibilities Design and engineer overhead and underground high-voltage transmission line projects ranging from approximately 69kV through 500kV+. Perform transmission line engineering calculations including conductor selection, pole/tower loading, sag and tension analysis, and clearance studies. Prepare construction drawings, material specifications, bills of material, and technical documentation. Support route selection, project feasibility studies, and cost estimating activities. Ensure designs comply with applicable utility standards, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE, and other governing codes. Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, permitting teams, and construction personnel throughout project execution. Provide engineering support during construction, including field visits and technical issue resolution. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering. 3+ years of transmission line engineering experience supporting utility-scale projects. Experience designing overhead and/or underground transmission lines from 69kV through EHV systems. Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, or similar transmission design software. Strong understanding of NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and utility engineering standards. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain. Strong communication, project coordination, and problem-solving skills. (IND2020)
