About the role

Advance transmission growth by shaping, administering, and executing complex generation and interconnection contracts. Through regulatory expertise, organizational partnership, and active participation in regional policy forums, this role guides projects and supports colleagues with informed, reliable analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team efforts in negotiation, drafting, and administering of all agreements, including project-related, with a primary focus on generation and transmission interconnection contracts essential to the Company’s growing Transmission portfolio.
  • Maintain working knowledge on regulatory matters and collaborate across the organization to ensure well-structured, and clearly defined agreements that mitigate risks and enable timely project delivery.
  • Utilize critical skills in structuring, administering, and executing legal, financial, and operational aspects of agreements.
  • Participate actively in Mid-Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) activities related to the Transmission Owners requirements and guide the Company on related policy matters.
  • Contribute to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulatory filings in coordination with MISO and FERC.
  • Act as a resource and provide guidance to those with less experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting, policy, or related field.
  • Four years or more job-related experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $67,000 - $84,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.

Schedule

This position may be hybrid with in-person reporting to Duluth, MN.
