Transmission Builder Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Transmission Builder with at least five years of experience to work in our Phoenix stores. We seek a professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated rebuilder skilled in automatic transmissions who has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and assembly of automatic transmissions
• Transmission tear down and diagnosis
• Parts pricing and ordering
• Transmission troubleshooting
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess a current, valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prior experience working on transmissions
• At least five years of experience building common 4, 5, and 6-speed automatic transmissions

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The Transmission Builder will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on ambient temperatures outside.

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle, or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently
• Hear and speak
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus

Pay

$30–$50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday.
