Transition Program Manager
Job Summary
Manage resources responsible for designing, architecting, and selling Transition/Transformation plans during the Pursuit phase (including sales support, contract negotiation, due diligence, planning). Oversee successful transition of IT operational responsibility from customer to company. Ensure transformation of customer environments to improve service levels and reduce operating costs. Establish and enforce appropriate Transition/Transformation Management (TTM) processes (reporting, risk management, quality, communications, etc.). Manage all aspects of the Transition program across company functions (MS, HR, Procurement, etc.). Coordinate internal and external PMO project activities. Lead the Transition/Transformation team during Pursuit and Transition/Transformation phases. Select and assign Project Managers for technical, HR, finance, administration, asset, vendor, and governance workstreams. Support Project Managers in execution of transition activities. Assist with acquiring staff and resources for transition programs. Ensure all project plans align with overall deal and customer transition plans. Lead execution and delivery of project plans. Manage financial aspects of transition projects, including budgeting and forecasting. Rebaseline budgets and costs after review periods in collaboration with finance and delivery managers. Coach and mentor team members and Project Managers. Lead internal improvement initiatives to evolve methodologies and best practices in strategic outsourcing.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience managing IT/transition implementation projects.
- 15+ years’ project management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Business, IT, Computer Science, or Engineering).
