Transition Developer (NonProfit)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists staff in identifying priority community skills for people served. Develops and manages goals and objectives for learning.
• Develops generic task analysis to fit the range variation that the people served may experience while learning in the community.
• Counsels on and conducts environmental analysis to ensure that setting are age appropriate and provides normalizing experiences.
• Identifies and develops linkages with existing generic programs for the purpose of creating inclusive experiences for the people with disabilities.
• Designs and implements staff training programs in a specialty area.
• Identifies necessary program supports to assist in transition process.
• Trains staff in the utilization of curricula resources and in effective teaching strategies in order to assist participants in achieving valued outcomes.
• Follow-up and reevaluates community site evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education, special education, fine arts, movement or specialty field.
• One year experience working with people with developmental disabilities a plus.
• Experience with the planning, implementation and evaluation of community based instructional programs.
• New York or Tri-State driver's license for more than one year, in good standing.
