Transition Coordinator

About the role

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school focusing on students with emotional disabilities and autism. We aim to support students in achieving academic success and preparing them for life after high school.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' vocational interests and prepare them for post-graduation based on their developmental needs.
• Prepare the transition component of the individualized education plan (IEP) for students in the program.
• Serve as a resource for students and their families/caregivers regarding post-secondary planning, including scholarship and financial aid applications, and connect them with relevant agencies.
• Develop transition portfolios for students.
• Aid in tracking and managing student service-learning hours and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) graduation requirements as appropriate.

Qualifications

• One of the following combinations of education and experience:
• A Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field and experience working with behaviorally challenged adolescents.
• A Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
• An MSDE Initial Professional License (IPL) is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $47,175.65 minimum - $91,052 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
