Transfer Driver CDL Class A

Immediately hiring a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver in Rock Tavern, NY.

Pay

• Hourly pay: $22 per hour
• Sign-on bonus: $250 at 30 days and $250 at 90 days
• Referral bonus: $250 at 6 months and $250 at 12 months
• Paid weekly

Schedule

• 1st shift: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday (no weekends)
• 40 hours per week
• Home daily (local position)

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations
• Shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities (no-touch freight, empty trailers)
• Transfer rental equipment, deliver trucks to customers, and pick up parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Perform other assigned tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Manual restriction acceptable
