Transfer Center Transport RN (Registered Nurse)

About the role

The Lee Health Transfer Center facilitates all patient transfers into, out of and within the Lee Health network. This full-time position is open for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 3 years of critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the Transfer Center (TC) in driving communication and coordination of patient transfers/admissions throughout the hospital system.
• Evaluates patient status and need and determines the appropriateness and priority of the request based on system specialization and hospital bed availability.
• Acts as the first responder for all communication to and from the TC, including LMHS hospitals (Intra-System), doctor's offices (Direct Admits), external outpatient facilities (Clinics), and external health systems (Inbound transfers).
• Performs intra-system and inter-facility transports of acute care and/or injured patients as triaged for RN-level care.
• Assesses, plans, and implements care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and physician guidelines.
• Manages invasive hemodynamic monitoring, critical infusions, and ventilator management as needed.
• Handles a high-demand, fast-paced work environment with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years of critical care experience.
• Florida state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

Individuals in this position must possess a strong clinical knowledge and ability to perform rapid triage, work closely with internal hospital management, physicians, and ambulance personnel, and manage complex patient care situations.
