Responsibilities

• Provides oversight and makes decisions related to patient flow including directing and coordinating bed control, including all admissions and transfers within the hospital along with parallel processing of EVS and transport operations related to patient flow.
• Oversees the coordination, triage, registration, and communication of transfer and consultation requests, determining the best course of action for the patient, physician, and hospital through working with a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Provides clinical oversight and critical thinking through the daily patient flow and bed placement decisions.
• Supports the hospital’s administration, management, and nursing staff in achieving organizational goals set to provide patient‑centered care while maintaining the organization’s strategic plan.
• Facilitates professional relationships between leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide patient room assignments based on patient diagnosis, acuity, and patient flow.
• Evaluates and facilitates staffing needs in collaboration with the nursing units, utilizing resources for capacity surge and patient flow escalation plans.
• Completes accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation.
