The Transactional Accountant
Our Vision for this Role
- Ensuring timely and accurate month-end close process across multiple business units
- Analysis and reconciliation of select general ledger accounts
- Preparation and posting of monthly accruals
- Ensuring the accurate posting of operational and capital expenditures
- Ensure accuracy of financial projects
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
- Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise
- Auxiliary support for special projects when necessary
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly recurring entries related to operational activities.
- Monthly analysis & preparation of work papers supporting select balance sheet accounts across business units as assigned.
- Analyze Operating Expense accounts to ensure proper and timely posting of invoices, transfers, adjustments, and preparation and processing of accruals as needed.
- Analyze and accruals for invoices and expenses not posted to the ERP prior to close.
- Aid in year-end audit through work paper preparation supporting balance sheet account balances.
Culture Champion
- Support Controller, Sr Director and Sr Manager on special projects and analysis as needed.
Trusted Owner
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies within department.
- Review of divisional, admin and operations postings to proper GL accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- Qualified professionals must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting along with 1 to 3 years of accounting experience.
- CPA or MBA is a plus but not required.
- Must possess strong analytical as well as audit/research documentation skills.
- Comprehend the monthly closing process.
- Must possess strong Excel skills as well as demonstrated proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and fixed asset software.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
- SAP and/or Workday experience is preferred but not required.

- Strong analytical and audit/research documentation skills.

- Demonstrated proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and fixed asset software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
