Technical & Transactional Accounting Manager
Essential Functions And Primary Duties
- Work directly with clients and their external audit firms to lead and manage technical accounting advisory projects, covering areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity transactions, debt arrangements, business combinations, lease accounting (ASC 842), financial reporting, and SEC reporting
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing engagements, fostering strong relationships, and proactively addressing client needs
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the client’s business and identify high-risk accounting areas
- Oversee and manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications to ensure successful outcomes
- Generate written components of various reports/deliverables related to engagements
- Efficiently research technical accounting topics as it pertains to the engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CFA, CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related field
- U.S. CPA certification
- 5+ years related experience
- Significant technical accounting experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition, equity transactions, debt structures, leases, business combinations, and SEC reporting
- IPO readiness or direct IPO experience highly desirable
- Prior industry or operational experience in technology and/or biotechnology sectors is strongly preferred
- Prior public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firms preferred)
- Demonstrated success in managing client service, building strong relationships, and balancing multiple concurrent engagements
- Tech-savvy with enthusiasm for experimenting with new technology tools and applications to optimize accounting processes and workflows
- Identify opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and AI tools into client service delivery and internal processes
- Experience with technology systems / applications, such as data analytic tools or workflow automation tools
- Familiarity with workflow automation solutions (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, UiPath) and collaboration platforms
- Knowledge of IFRS standards
- Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
