Training Supervisor - Nights

About the Role

This position will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing training programs relating to operations and technical skill development of employees. The training supervisor will assess needs, implement training and development plans, and enhance workforce effectiveness to improve overall performance. With input from various sources, this role analyzes training needs, develops or sources curriculum, delivers or outsources courses, and follows proven program formats with certifications of completion.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and monitor situations that may drive changes or updates to the plant’s ability to meet production or work demands, adjusting headcount as needed.
  • Monitor, communicate, and address scheduling issues or changes that negatively impact the facility or business.
  • Assess training needs in operations, skilled/technical roles, or general training areas; identify and resolve training issues.
  • Review and evaluate training products, methods, and procedures to ensure timely delivery of high-quality training programs.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities, such as operational changes or industry developments, and recommend improvements to training programs.
  • Work with plant leadership and the training department to support and drive training and cross-training for crew leads, assistant machine operators, CAT Bs, technical, and logistics-based positions to build skill depth.
  • Collaborate with the Training and Development Program Manager to create and execute technical field training plans, including managing employee skill sets in Kronos.
  • Support plant operations and HR in filling open skilled labor positions and communicating opportunities and risks related to gaps in skilled headcount.
  • Partner closely with the Logistics group to ensure their training needs are met.
  • Lead a team of trainers in differing specialties and ensure they meet the needs of the business and operations they support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or Human Resource Development; Master’s preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant and progressive experience in training, development, and organizational development disciplines.
  • Knowledge of organizational development principles, methods, assessments, and interventions.
  • Familiarity with current professional organizational development and training and development principles and techniques.
  • Skill mastery in instructional design and curriculum development processes.
  • Highly skilled in facilitating learning solutions and presenting to all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships throughout the organization and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to differentiate among competing demands and establish or shift priorities as needed.
  • Proven ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, multitask, and meet aggressive timeframes with minimal supervision.

Schedule

Night shift schedule: 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM CST.
