Training Specialist I

A Training Specialist I oversees, coordinates, teaches, coaches, and presents training to retail-area associates, conducting sessions in one-to-one, virtual, and group settings while developing ongoing learning aids and programs. The role thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts quickly to change.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate associates in the classroom and identify knowledge gaps to address
• Partner with the Learning Manager to support all operational training needs
• Recommend and influence changes to training procedures to improve staff performance
• Deploy enterprise learning solutions to drive knowledge transfer and business impact
• Present training materials to various audiences via instructor-led and virtual forums
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of training programs
• Organize role-specific training sessions and ensure associates receive appropriate knowledge transfer
• Oversee attendance and report discrepancies to the Learning Manager
• Complete classroom documentation and associate tracking reports within five business days of each session
• Ensure student competency requirements are met within each class
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals, business correspondence, journals, and government regulations
• Skill in presenting information effectively in one-to-one and small-group settings to associates and leaders
• Excellent planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft presentation software
• Good knowledge of various training and teaching methods
• Excellent time management skills
• Willingness to spend extensive time in the classroom teaching and extensive travel
• Ability to stand for long periods

Education and/or Experience

• BS/BA degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred
• One to three years of banking experience focused in the retail area required
