Training Specialist

About the Role

The Training Specialist, under general supervision, is responsible for developing, designing, and delivering classroom and individual training programs. This position assists in administering and maintaining the UES Training Program within Utilities & Energy Services at Texas A&M University.

Responsibilities

• Collects, compiles, and reports training data, ensuring staff members are current with their training plans.
• Updates training documentation in UtiliSkills and communicates reports as needed.
• Assists supervisors and managers in identifying employee training needs and researches solutions using internal and external resources.
• Develops, reviews, and evaluates training materials.
• Works with supervisors and managers to create training and development plans for employees and career ladder matrices for UES positions.
• Assists employees with tutoring, test-taking skills, and proctoring exams.
• Conducts hands-on testing observations and assists with scenario training for Production Services.
• Contributes to a safe work environment by reporting accidents, using proper personal protective equipment, and participating in safety training.
• Strives to meet and exceed customer expectations through responsive, respectful, and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of teaching and/or training experience.
• Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Skills

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Proficiency in reading, comprehending, and communicating written and oral instructions in English.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and other office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Strong presentation skills.

Pay: Compensation will be commensurate with the selected hire’s experience.
