By collaborating with diverse teams, the organization assesses workflows, identifies capability gaps, and translates strategic goals into practical training solutions.About the OpportunityThe Training Specialist designs and delivers comprehensive learning solutions that support stakeholder adoption and long-term sustainment of new initiatives. This role develops scalable, accessible, and engaging training programs for diverse audiences and plays an important part in ensuring the successful implementation of public health projects. The position combines instructional design, training delivery, stakeholder collaboration, and change enablement to improve learning outcomes and organizational readiness.Responsibilities• Analyze proposed changes within complex public health environments and identify training implications.• Evaluate downstream impacts of organizational, process, and technology changes.• Develop comprehensive learning solutions that support initiative rollout, adoption, and sustainment.• Design scalable training programs using multiple learning modalities, including microlearning, instructor-led training, job aids, and eLearning.• Ensure training content is accessible, engaging, measurable, and appropriate for diverse audiences.• Collaborate with technologists, system experts, subject matter experts, and program leadership to develop effective learning solutions.• Translate complex technical and data science concepts into clear and accessible training materials.• Develop curricula, learning resources, facilitator materials, job aids, and other training deliverables.• Ensure curriculum and learning materials comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.• Evaluate training effectiveness and use feedback and performance data to improve learning programs.• Support training management, implementation, and continuous improvement across multiple initiatives.• Mentor and provide guidance to training team members as needed.Requirements• Minimum 7 years of experience in learning curriculum development, instructional design, and training management.• Proven experience delivering training through multiple modalities, including microlearning, in-person facilitation, job aids, and eLearning.• Experience collaborating with developers, technical teams, subject matter experts, and program leadership.• Leadership experience, including staff management, mentoring, and team development.• Experience engaging with clients, senior stakeholders, or executive management.• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training on technical or data science content.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning content authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Captivate.• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and accessible learning design.• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.• Bachelor’s degree required.Preferred Qualifications• Experience working in public health or related government programs.• Background in Instructional Systems Design, curriculum development, or instructor-led training.• Experience using AI tools to support training development and content creation.• Familiarity with learning resource management systems and gamification techniques.Pay Range and Compensation Package• Estimated annual salary range: $80,000–$90,000 USD.• Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and available project funding.Benefits & Perks• Paid time off accruing at 5.67 hours per pay period, equivalent to 136 hours annually.• 11 paid holidays annually, plus additional sick leave for California residents.• Medical, dental, and vision insurance.• Prescription drug coverage.• Employee Assistance Program.• Short-term and long-term disability insurance.• Life and AD&D insurance.• Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), and Dependent Care Spending Account.• Commuter benefits.• Retirement plans, including 401(k) and 401(a).• Voluntary benefits including hospital indemnity, critical illness, accident, pet insurance, legal insurance, and identity theft protection.
