Schedule

2nd Shift: 1:50 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday plus overtime/weekends as needed.

Open interviews hiring event on Thursdays and Fridays:

  • Thursday, 08/27/26 – 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Friday, 08/28/26 – 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Thursday, 09/03/26 – 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Friday, 09/04/26 – 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Location: 502 West U.S. Hwy 20, Michigan City, IN 46360

Responsibilities

  • Oversee pre-op and/or tear-down depending on shift
  • Coordinate line set-up
  • Review production issues, schedules, orders, and product specifications
  • Collaborate with other departments to prevent downtime
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives plant-wide
  • Assign personnel to work stations and provide direction
  • Train associates as needed
  • Recommend corrective actions for non-compliance to supervisor
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and line workers
  • Ensure specification compliance
  • Document and maintain legible records for line operations, including lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production, and standards
  • Perform basic math, enter data into computer programs, and maintain attention to detail
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and production reports (e.g., product usage, packaging, lot tracking, labor tracking, waste control, daily worksheets)
  • Cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging
  • Work safely at all times; on the floor 95% of shift
  • Work a flexible schedule and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three to six months of related work experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand and operate tools or controls
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop, or crouch
  • May need to ascend or descend stairs in multi-level facilities
  • Occasionally move up to 25 pounds using a hoist, pallet-jack, or cart
  • Regularly lift up to 15 pounds (e.g., boxes of product, bales of cartons, rolls of film)
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Skills

  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English (bilingual capability is a plus)
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency in data entry and computer programs
  • Excellent communication and approachability

Work Environment

  • Multi-shift production operations that may be expansive, noisy, wet/humid
  • Temperature variations: refrigerated, ambient, or warm depending on facility and season
