Maintenance Lead I - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Responsible for equipment reliability, including, but not limited to: performing PM’s, work orders and other emergency repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or yourself. This position exists to ensure the production equipment is properly maintained to produce a wide variety of products. Additionally, this position will act as a liaison between Production leadership and maintenance technicians with the coordination of repairs. Will regularly participate in inspecting equipment, structures or material; work on all requests for the various types of maintenance work assigned. This role will also act as a fill-in for the maintenance supervisor.

Job Duties

  • Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordinates with others of varying levels to ensure alignment and prioritization to direct technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and perform mechanical and some electrical repairs on processing equipment.
  • Work with the supervisor to plan, schedule, and execute PM’s based on production line downtime and priorities including performing PM’s yourself.
  • Properly document work performed through the CMMS system and hold the team accountable to logging time, parts, and comments/details of work performed.
  • Operate a forklift and manlift as needed.
  • Actively participate and support maintenance/production KPIs.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Troubleshoot and performing electrical repairs on processing equipment from 24 volt DC to 480 volt AC.
  • Electrical schematic reading.
  • Mentor junior grade mechanics and operators.
  • Oversee and direct others as required by assignment.
  • Prepare reports for End of Shift summaries.
  • Work with safety in mind at all times, maintain a clean and organized work space and audit the shop for these attributes also.

Required Competencies & Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and breakdown analysis.
  • Knowledge of PM practices and why it is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Mechanical repairs on processing equipment.
  • Fabrication with use of TIG and MIG welders, Lathe, Mill, Drill Press, Bench Grinder, Band Saw, Shear, Break, Press, and other shop and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret documents such drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, as well as equipment manuals.
  • Solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Electrical Knowledge including AC/DC circuits, motor controls including VFD’s preferred.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Use electrical test instruments such as volt/ohm/milliamp-meter, amp probe and megger preferred.
  • Multi-tasking while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous production environment exposure; which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts and fluctuations in temperature.
  • Stand, walk and climb stairs on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years minimum in a leadership role.
  • 3 - 7 years of related work experience (food industry is a plus).
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting up to 480V desired.

Safety & Environmental

Employee shall follow factory safety & environmental objectives and targets; follow the plant safety rules, report incidents and near misses immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and take personal ownership of the Safety in their area – to include the safety of visitors and contractors. The employee will also take action to reduce negative environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water and will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.).

Quality

Employees shall follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets; follow Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately and maintain compliance with regulations. The employee will also understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

Pay

The McComb, OH facility is offering a sign-on bonus for every new hire starting as a Maintenance Lead I. The payout is broken down as below: Maintenance Lead I: $5000k - 50% on 1st pay, 50% in 90 days.

Schedule

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and weekend shifts. Second shift operates from 2:00PM to 10:00PM.
