Maintenance Lead - 2nd shift

About the role

The Maintenance Lead shall act as support staff to the maintenance supervisor concerning the execution of all maintenance and assigned tasks within their assigned area of responsibility, including oversight of the team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance activities on facilities and equipment, while prioritizing safety and adhering to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance activities on facilities and equipment
• Providing technical guidance to team members and troubleshooting complex issues
• Assisting with repairs when necessary and supporting supervision in the planning, assigning, and directing of work
• Contributing to the rewarding and discipline of employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
• Monitoring team performance, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and addressing performance concerns
• Collaborating with department supervisors, leads, and operators to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance is performed on equipment
• Maintaining proper documentation in all record keeping formats and coordinating with other departments to address maintenance needs
• Communicating updates on work progress and escalating issues as needed
• Assisting with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed
• Working with the maintenance supervisor to coordinate topics for safety meetings

Requirements

• Comply and enforce all applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices
• Assist with the interviewing and hiring of employees
• Assist with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members
• Provide and maintain a positive teamwork environment
