About the Role
The Training Instructor is responsible for teaching students the proper procedures to assemble, install, set up, operate, troubleshoot, or maintain products serviced by WPI. This includes classroom and lab instruction, hands-on exercises, and field training. The instructor will follow approved curriculum, maintain class records, and administer exams, while meeting WPI product manufacturers' instructor standards and maintaining instructor certifications.
Responsibilities
- Maintain custody of training materials.
- Follow curriculum and administer field and training center courses.
- Maintain OEM certification in "Train the Trainer" programs.
- Provide classroom and lab training to employees and customers.
- Coordinate training programs with the Training Manager.
- Assist service technicians as required.
- Handle or assist with special projects as instructed.
- Coordinate vendor training courses when required.
- Travel for personal training development as required.
- Promote good welfare among the company and its divisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree or Accredited Trade School graduate preferred.
- Applied certification(s) in engines and electrical disciplines preferred.
- Current knowledge of engines and electrical disciplines and their relevance to business objectives.
- Must meet company goals and objectives and conform to company policies and procedures.
- Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance standards.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Dependable transportation.
- Able to lift 70 pounds.
- Able to bend and twist several times a day.
- Must be bondable.
- Ability to work flexible hours and days.
- Ability to work independently and maintain good client relations.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Schedule
Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekend hours as necessary. Position requires frequent travel and both indoor and outdoor work.
