Training & Development Specialist - Bilingual
About the Role
Under general direction from the Human Resources Director and/or Manager, you will identify, schedule, and coordinate brand-training programs. This role facilitates New Hire Orientation bi-weekly or as needed and drives brand strategy and recognition through training initiatives. You will develop new curriculum and edit existing brand training materials such as workbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and refresher training.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of enterprise brand training programs at all WCHGA locations.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as requested or required.
- Coordinate the training schedule for enterprise brand training programs.
- Identify employee groups for supervisor/management training.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation (NHO) bi-weekly or as needed, including evenings or weekends for property expansions.
- Cross-train other Training Specialists.
- Assist the Human Resources Director and/or Manager with identifying organizational issues and needs, and appraise opportunities for development or improvement through training.
- Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives; make recommendations for change.
- Partner with the Human Resources Director and/or Manager to develop training aids such as handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and scripted role-play scenarios.
- Conduct training needs analysis in partnership with the Human Resources Director and/or Manager.
- Assist with curriculum revisions and methods to improve effectiveness.
- Establish training codes and maintain training history in Great Plains for all employees.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; if currently enrolled in a GED program, successful completion within 6 months of start date is required as a condition of continued employment.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) years of direct classroom training experience OR an associate degree with four (4) years of direct classroom training experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; an average score of 70% or higher on the skills test is required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with designing and implementing training programs preferred (work samples may be requested).
- Excellent platform skills delivering classroom training such as New Hire Orientation, On-the-Job Skills Training, and Customer Service training (presentation of a training module may be required as part of the interview process).
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of employees and management.
- Knowledge and experience of current training and development methodologies, including principles of adult learning and assessment techniques.
- Willingness to work odd and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to travel and participate in training at multiple locations as needed.
- Valid and current State Driver’s License with an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required.
- Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain one) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act; must remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position.
Pay
Compensation: $52,600.00–$65,000.00 annually, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
