The Megafactory Training Team is seeking a highly motivated individual to support training initiatives at our Lathrop, CA location. The ideal candidate will coordinate and facilitate new hire training for all Lathrop employees, and provide ongoing development opportunities for current team members.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with the Tesla onboarding team to ensure a seamless transition into training, including scheduling, logistics, and communication.
- Maintain detailed tracking of new hires, manage certifications and station assignments, and lead a team of workstation trainers for each respective shop.
- Work lineside throughout your shift with associates to proactively assess training progress.
- Effectively allocate groups to appropriate training programs to prepare them for their roles.
- Continuously learn new process skills from engineering and shop process owners, staying up to date with the latest revisions in process operations.
- Provide cross-training to employees on the correct techniques.
- Communicate proactively with students, stakeholders, and managers regarding planned and completed training, based on their needs.
- Work closely with production leaders to ensure training efforts align with business objectives.
- Navigate through JIRA, actively monitoring and auditing ticket closure, engaging the teams on actions needed to close issues, and can speak to closure rates week over week.
- Facilitate live training sessions on the manufacturing floor for new hires, existing employees, and any other required training sessions.
- Mentor new facilitators, certify on required safety courses, target trainings based on high failure rates, and demonstrate the ability to simulate a hands-on environment for training that might not be able to be conducted on the line.
- Maintain accurate Versatility Charts to properly track certification coverage across the factory.
- Demonstrate a high sense of urgency to close certification gaps, speak to weekly and daily progress, and execute self-certifications to provide a better training experience.
- Set clear expectations for new and existing hires in alignment with Tesla standards, ensuring they understand safety, quality, and efficiency requirements.
What You'll Bring
- At least 1 year of production experience is preferred. Lead or Welder background is a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presenter with passion to facilitate large groups.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to be highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Background or understanding of adult learning principles and Learning Management System (LMS) is a plus.
