About the role
Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Training and Development Specialist to develop and deliver a comprehensive training experience for complex software applications used in laboratory and public health activities. The role involves creating training content, maintaining and updating materials around system enhancements, facilitating training sessions, and gathering training metrics to improve user proficiency and system comprehension.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs for software applications in laboratory and public health settings, customizing content based on user roles, skill levels, and system familiarity.
- Create and maintain training materials, including user manuals, instructional guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supplementary training aids such as videos, infographics, and multimedia resources.
- Facilitate hands-on training sessions and system demonstrations, both in-person and via teleconference platforms, guiding users through system features.
- Gather, interpret, and analyze training metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand system changes and develop content for release notes, broadcasts, notifications, and training materials.
- Develop communications about system functionality and program offerings to improve user awareness and comprehension.
- Support the team’s overarching training and communications methodology.
- Coordinate the development of training aids to enhance user learning and proficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience producing training content, lab processes, or education materials.
- 5+ years of experience hosting and presenting content on teleconference platforms.
- Experience creating instructional guides for IT systems or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Experience creating announcements regarding program offerings, system updates, or new functionality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including conducting teleconferences via Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate training sessions, conduct presentations, interpret training evaluation data, and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to deliver publication-ready work products without additional copy-editing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI.
- Experience working with public health agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- Experience developing training materials for public health emergency response.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.
- Excellent data gathering and analysis skills.

Pay
Estimated annual salary: $80,000 – $90,000 USD.

Hybrid work arrangement with periodic onsite requirements.
