In the U.S., HI-LEX operates under three divisions: HI-LEX America in Battle Creek, Michigan; HI-LEX Controls in Hudson, Litchfield, and Hazel Park, Michigan; and Daedong HI-LEX of America in Cusseta, Alabama. The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of Finance, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Program Management, Human Resources, Purchasing and IT.
Responsibilities
- Maintains production requirements by monitoring associates.
- Maintains quality standards by ensuring approval of finished products.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety by monitoring the worksite.
- Solves product issues and implements corrective actions.
- Achieves Quality Management System (QMS) goals by performing necessary adjustments.
- Completes required forms and paperwork.
- Trains associates in machine processes and problem-solving techniques.
- Loads, unloads trucks, and moves materials throughout the plant.
- Verifies quantities, lot numbers, labels, and part correctness.
- Notifies materials control of discrepancies in materials received or shipped.
- Organizes and condenses stock to maximize usage, maintaining lot and FIFO control.
- Maintains material location in Plex.
- Takes on temporary responsibilities for safety, employees, building, plant, and grounds repairs, including minor machine problems.
- Performs temporary job fills on production lines.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years experience as Cable Assembly Operator II or III.
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets/Mail/Calendar/Slides.
- Proficient in Plex and Mach2.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, following PWI’s, and completing TQIS’s.
- General math skills required.
Physical Requirements
- Office environment with noises from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives, and printers.
- Use of a video display terminal (VDT) for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time.
- May experience eyestrain from extended periods of VDT viewing.
- Factory environment with noise from the manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to moving equipment, parts, and electrical shock.
- May face serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
- Daily lifts, carries, or moves objects – up to 25 pounds.
