About the role

Conducts basic or routine in-person and online training for program applications and creates or updates basic training materials. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on customer and user needs. Works on routine training course development projects, including scoping required resources and timelines to meet project deadlines with quality results. Clearly communicates technical and non-technical information to beginner users, application owners, and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, creates, and delivers basic-level training using the ADDIE (Analyst, Designer, Developer, Implementer, or Evaluator) system.
  • Partners with managers and subject-matter experts (SMEs) to develop training plans, identify learning objectives, and obtain sources for course material.
  • Gathers information from application functional analysts, application owners, and SMEs to update lesson plans, practical exercises, learning objectives, handouts, and other materials.
  • Establishes and maintains connectivity for interactive online training via Microsoft Lync or similar technologies, troubleshooting simple network issues with assistance from network engineers.
  • Updates and maintains instructional materials such as lesson plans, SOPs, user and instructor guides, handouts, and practical exercises to assist customer personnel and contractors.
  • Facilitates training on routine IT applications and customer processes in team or independent settings, including outside normal working hours to meet customer scheduling needs.
  • Actively participates in peer review sessions, offering constructive feedback to improve team products and services.
  • Supports team initiatives contributing to customer program success.
  • Participates in identifying, executing, and evaluating projects to advance technology-enhanced learning (e.g., simulation, augmented reality, online modalities, active learning, app-based learning).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience developing and delivering training courses to diverse audiences.
  • Active secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with proficiency in English grammar, composition, and spelling.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for instructional design.
  • Knowledge of e-Learning development software (e.g., Adobe Connect, Articulate, HTML, Flash, Camtasia, Captivate, Adobe Presenter) and web conferencing tools.
  • Experience with instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and training effectiveness measurement.
  • Highly effective time and project management skills, including organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Experience evaluating and creating assessments and course materials in various delivery formats.
  • Familiarity with 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a team and interact professionally with individuals of varying expertise levels.
