About the Role
Granules Pharmaceuticals Inc. (GPI), a subsidiary of Granules India LTD, is a leading generic pharmaceutical company dedicated to excellence in manufacturing, quality, and commercialization of generic drugs. As the Junior Engineer / Trainee Engineer of Facilities & Engineering (F&E), you will oversee facilities operations in a Granules pharmaceutical facility, focusing on maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, critical utilities, and general facility upkeep. This role involves planning, scheduling, contractor management, GMP documentation, and driving improvements in metrics.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and other facilities.
- Maintain all necessary documents as per Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards.
- Develop, execute, and review IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for in-process machines, equipment, and utilities.
- Work with pharmaceutical manufacturing machines/equipment to perform installation, qualification, and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot very large-scale integrated circuits used in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
- Assist, coordinate, and supervise equipment commissioning, installation, and validations.
- Perform engineering management of electrical/facility upgrades and/or expansions.
- Analyze and react to project estimates, facilitating capacity and process constraints.
- Manage costs to justify tools, equipment, processes, or method improvements for cost reduction, quality, innovation, safety, and electrical efficiency.
- Supervise a general mechanic and an electrical engineer.
- Coordinate and support warehouse, production, and laboratory teams on facility-related issues.
- Maintain and execute scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration.
- Perform all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) related activities, including personnel training on safety procedures.
- Conduct risk management activities such as CAPA, FMEA, and DFMEA.
- Troubleshoot process and quality defects in your area of responsibility.
- Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of related experience; training will be provided.
- Experience with very large-scale integrated circuits and performing installations, qualifications, and upgrades of machines is highly preferred.
Management & Collaboration
- Works under minimal supervision and reports to the Manager of Facilities & Engineering.
- Collaborates with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Hours are flexible depending on business needs, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
