About the role

The Junior Engineer / Trainee Engineer of Facilities & Engineering (F&E) oversees facilities operations in a Granules pharmaceutical facility. This role involves maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, critical utilities, and general facility upkeep. Key responsibilities include planning, scheduling, contractor management, performance metrics, and GMP documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and other facilities.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation as per Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards.
  • Develop, execute, and review IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for in-process machines, equipment, and utilities.
  • Work with pharmaceutical manufacturing machines/equipment to perform installation, qualification, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot very large-scale integrated circuits used in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist, coordinate, and supervise equipment commissioning, installation, and validations.
  • Perform engineering management of electrical/facility upgrades and expansions.
  • Analyze project estimates and facilitate capacity and process constraints.
  • Manage costs to justify tools, equipment, processes, or method improvements for cost reduction, quality, innovation, safety, and electrical efficiency.
  • Supervise a general mechanic and an electrical engineer.
  • Coordinate and support warehouse, production, and laboratory teams on facility-related issues.
  • Maintain and execute scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration.
  • Perform all EHS-related activities, including personnel training on safety procedures.
  • Conduct risk management activities such as CAPA, FMEA, and DFMEA.
  • Troubleshoot process and quality defects in the area of responsibility.
  • Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and modify maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of related experience; training will be provided.
  • Experience with very large-scale integrated circuits and performing installations, qualifications, and upgrades of machines is highly preferred.

Skills

Qualifying experience must include working in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment, with a focus on facilities, engineering, and compliance.

Pay

$23 - $25/hour

Schedule

Hours are flexible depending on business needs based on production/R&D process workflow and may require working earlier in the morning, evening hours, or during the weekend.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
