Trained Medication Assistant (TMA) - Part-Time PM Shift. Eventide on Eighth!

About the role

The Part Time Trained Medication Assistant position is available for a PM Shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm), including every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with medication administration under the supervision of the Resident Care Manager and Charge Nurse.
• Observes side effects and reports them to the Charge Nurse.
• Administers medication as needed under the direct guidance and supervision of the Charge Nurse.
• Reports the effectiveness of medication administration to the Charge Nurse.
• Notifies the Charge Nurse of any changes in residents'/tenants' conditions.
• Dispenses stock medication to employees only with approval from the Charge Nurse.
• Checks medications regularly, including expiration dates, and reorders them as necessary.
• Cleans and maintains the medication cart, including individual drawers, on a monthly basis.
• Ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory rules and regulations.
• Assists with daily living activities such as oral care, hair care, dressing, feeding, bathing, toileting, etc., ensuring safety, comfort, health, and hygiene.
• Provides activities and exercises as required for each resident.
• Assists with nutrition and fluid management to meet elimination needs.
• Disposes of discontinued medications according to prescribing orders and Eventide's policy.
• Writes physician orders on medication sheets as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Adheres to safe lifting procedures and follows all associated policies.
• Completes required in-service sessions and trainings throughout the year.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and registered on the MN Nurse Assistant Registry.
• Must hold a current MN TMA Certification.
• Must be in good standing on all nursing assistant registries in the U.S.
• Current CPR/BLS (or its approved equivalency) is required.
