$1,500.00 sign-on bonus available.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trailers to determine service work or repairs needed
• Metal fabrication and welding
• Brake repair
• Painting and patching
• Repair of trailer lights
• Wood repair
• Tire replacement
• Shop maintenance (sweeping, emptying trash, etc.)
• Operate forklifts, welding equipment, high lifts, and semi-tractors to move trailers
• Adhere components on trailers (placards, scuffs, e-tracking, LASH, etc.)
• Accurately report work performed on shop work orders

Requirements

• Proficient in welding, cutting torches, small electric and pneumatic power tools
• Metal and wood fabrication skills with strong mechanical aptitude
• Previous mechanic experience preferred but not required
• Ability to drive a tractor to move trailers (valid driver’s license required)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Must provide own tools

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certification in welding is a plus
