About the role

Mohawk Industries is seeking a skilled trailer mechanic to inspect and repair trailer units, shop equipment, and service vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of on-the-job experience as a truck/trailer mechanic, and must be able to diagnose power units and use computer software.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on tanker trailers, trucks, flatbed trailers, van trailers, and some fabrication.
• Diagnoses and repairs issues according to U.S. Department of Transportation regulations.
• Inspects the overall condition of trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Attends job-related training as needed.
• Follows established standard operating procedures.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Assumes other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent and/or letter of equivalence from the Department of Transportation preferred.
• Two (2) years on-the-job experience as a truck/trailer mechanic required.
• Valid Class A CDL and Air Brake Certification.
• Must be able to make inspections and perform maintenance/repairs to Department of Transportation regulations.
