Trailer Maintenance Technician
Primary Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as Required
- Follow and enforce company safety polices and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
- Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM)
- Perform air brake diagnostics, and inspections.
- Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs utilizing laptop diagnostic system
- Perform floor repairs
- Perform minor and major accident repairs
- Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs
- Perform air brake diagnostics and repairs
- Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments
- Perform aluminum and steel welding
- Perform general repairs on trailer and trailer dollies
- Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently
- Adhere to all warranty policies and procedures
- Provide accurate documentation on repair orders
- Research and conform to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) maintenance specifications (as closely as possible)
- Deviations from the OEM specifications must be approved by the Facility Manager
- Maintain and organized and clean maintenance shop
- Comply with all SPS policies DOT Regulations and OSHA guidelines that impact the maintenance department (not limited to the Following)
- Lock out / Tag out
- Safety Data Sheets
- Hazardous Material Usage
- Train and coach new Maintenance personnel
- Procure parts and supplies to ensure equipment up-
- Maintain and report expenses for department within budgetary guidelines

In addition to storing steel, some of our service centers process it cut, bend, decoil, etc. to make life easy for our customers. Qualifications
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in a dirty, dusty, and sometimes wet environment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay
The starting wage is $25/hr.
Schedule
1st shift 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
