Traffic Signal Technician II

About the role

The Town of Marana is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician II to join the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position offering a competitive benefits package and alternative work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of traffic signals, street/parking lot lights, and associated equipment/supplies.
• Sets up lane closures for operating machinery and removes/replaces defective equipment.
• Observes and reviews traffic operations and provides electrical/communication installation, maintenance, and connectivity between traffic signals and other related devices/equipment.
• Programs controllers, detection systems, and pre-emption equipment.
• Maintains data, work orders, daily logs, and records of traffic signals operations.
• Provides and requests Blue Stake.
• Installs new poles, cabinets, and pull boxes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training.
• Over three (3) years of experience in a related field.
• Valid Arizona driver license.
• Complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical including a 50-pound lift test.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include IMSA Traffic Signal Tech Level II certification or obtaining within 12 months of hire.
• Three or more years of experience in traffic signal construction and maintenance.
