Essential Functions
- Inspects and maintains traffic control devices to ensure proper operation
- Performs preventative maintenance activity
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment
- Tests and programs control cabinets
- Responds to traffic control device outage calls
- Completes verbal and written status reports
- Completes work orders and requests for maintenance
- Drives and maintains work site trucks
- Performs pre-trip vehicle inspection
- Checks fluid levels and tire pressure
- Fuels vehicle
- Reports problems with vehicle to supervisor
- Maintains reference material library
- Collects schematic diagrams and technical manuals for traffic control equipment
- Maintains equipment log and supply list
- Updates knowledge base on new and existing technologies
- Conducts simulations in shop to test traffic control equipment
- Tests new and repaired equipment to ensure proper operation
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in electrical repair and maintenance
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Specific License or Certification Required
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License, including appropriate endorsements
