Essential Functions

  • Inspects and maintains traffic control devices to ensure proper operation
  • Performs preventative maintenance activity
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment
  • Tests and programs control cabinets
  • Responds to traffic control device outage calls
  • Completes verbal and written status reports
  • Completes work orders and requests for maintenance
  • Drives and maintains work site trucks
  • Performs pre-trip vehicle inspection
  • Checks fluid levels and tire pressure
  • Fuels vehicle
  • Reports problems with vehicle to supervisor
  • Maintains reference material library
  • Collects schematic diagrams and technical manuals for traffic control equipment
  • Maintains equipment log and supply list
  • Updates knowledge base on new and existing technologies
  • Conducts simulations in shop to test traffic control equipment
  • Tests new and repaired equipment to ensure proper operation

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in electrical repair and maintenance
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job

Specific License or Certification Required

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License, including appropriate endorsements
