Safely direct vehicle traffic through highway and roadway construction work zones using approved flagging procedures, signs, paddles, and hand signals.
Operate a pilot vehicle to escort traffic safely through construction zones (Pilot Car Drivers only).
Maintain constant awareness of traffic conditions and communicate effectively with crew members to ensure a safe work environment.
Follow all traffic control plans, company policies, and applicable safety regulations.
Aid with setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices as needed.
Promote a positive and professional image while interacting with the public, customers, and coworkers.
Perform other duties as assigned to support field operations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current Flagger Certification required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required for Pilot Car Drivers.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and committed to safety.
- Willingness to work overtime and varying schedules as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable working near moving traffic, construction equipment, dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
