We are searching for a Traffic Manager at our Tracy, CA location to support our Flooring business. Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use, providing support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material.
About the role
As a Traffic Manager, you will direct and oversee transportation-related operations within the branch. Your contributions will ensure our products reach customers with 100% customer satisfaction. The team is personable and values challenging work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees adhere to State and Federal DOT and company safety policies.
- Keep records, logs, and schedules of all transportation vehicles and drivers monitored by the branch.
- Coordinate the movement of all inbound/outbound equipment and freight from point of origin to destination.
- Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
- Provide monthly branch reports as required.
- Responsible for monthly inventory of finished goods.
- Responsible for purchasing resale finished goods inventory.
- Hire, train, and monitor all aspects of personnel in the traffic department.
- Maintain control of department expenses.
- Ensure driver’s quarterly meetings are completed.
- Complete Purchase Requisitions for any expenditure.
- Understand contracts and capital projects in traffic, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Work with vendors on equipment and personnel needs.
- Monitor all aspects of employee performance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
- Solid knowledge of State and Federal DOT regulations.
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Geographical comprehension.
- Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
- Good conflict resolution skills.
- Understand contracts and capital projects in traffic, shipping, and receiving areas.
Pay
Salary ranges from $70,304 to $90,000.
