About the role
Fisher Associates is seeking an experienced Traffic Project Manager (Civil Engineer) to lead the delivery of roadway and traffic infrastructure projects across New York State. This is a client-facing leadership role within our growing transportation design practice, responsible for guiding projects from scoping and preliminary design through final design and construction support.
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of traffic and transportation projects from scoping through construction support.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and quality to ensure strong technical and financial performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, NYSDOT, and other regulatory agencies.
- Oversee QA/QC, risk management, billing, reporting, and project closeout.
- Guide design strategy and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
- Strengthen client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Support business development efforts, including proposals, scope development, and fee estimates.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation design within a consulting environment, preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
- Experience delivering projects from preliminary design through final design and construction support
- Demonstrated experience managing NYSDOT traffic design projects and federally funded transportation programs.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs and MicroStation (preferred)
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Salary Range $95,000-$130,000
